SPECIAL and the W3C Community Group ‘Data Privacy Vocabularies and Controls’ (DPVCG) will be presented at the ISWC 2018 workshop ‘Semantic Web for social good’,
The DPVCG was created by SPECIAL as a follow-up to the workshop on Data Privacy Controls and Vocabularies as a place for people to work together on new privacy-related, machine-readable vocabularies, on harmonising them and preparing them for standardisation. One particular interest, of course, is modelling (parts of) the GDPR.
We wrote a short paper on this work for ISWC 2018 and thus the Community Group and SPECIAL will be presented at one of the ISWC workshops, the ‘Semantic Web for social good’ workshop. The workshop's theme is how linking data over wide categories can bring social benefits. Vocabularies and controls for managing personal data obviously fit well with that theme.
SPECIAL's Alex Polleres, co-chair of the DPVCG, will be present to answer questions.
The International Semantic Web Conference (ISWC) takes place this year in Monterey CA (USA), from 8 to 12 October. The workshop is on the 9th.
