The requirements and design of SPECIAL's planned user interface for end-users are a topic at the IFIP Summer School 2017.
The user interface, sometimes referred to as a ‘privacy dashboard’, provides an example of how people can control their private data, give & retract consent for each usage, correct errors in the data, learn about their rights and what to do in case of a data breach, and track who uses their data. It is an implementation of the new European regulations (GDPR and EPrivacy), which will come into force next year.
The paper to be discussed at the IFIP Summer School is called Design of a Usable and GDPR-compliant Privacy Dashboard and is written by Sabrina Kirrane (WU Wien), Olha Drozd (WU Wien), Axel Kupper (T-Labs), and Philip Raschke (TU-Berlin), who are all members of the SPECIAL project team.
The IFIP Summer School takes place from 3 to 8 September 2017, in Ispra (Italy). The final paper is expected to be published towards the end of the year.
