The European Big Data Value Forum is an event for industry professionals, business developers, researchers, and policy makers in the area of Big Data, organised by the EDF and the BDVA with support from the European Commission.

One of the sessions, in the afternoon of Wednesday November 22, 2017, is a panel with the title ‘Privacy-Preserving Technologies and Human Factors’. Sabrina Kirrane will be on the panel to represent SPECIAL. The themes of the panel are:

  • Resolving the contradiction between big data innovation and privacy, how to choose your approach and how to communicate it transparently to your users.
  • Allowing privacy-preserving analytics in big data contexts, how much personal data ends up in aggregated results or prediction models and how the GDPR may apply.
  • Meeting context-specific needs with the right big data architecture, how regulation or ethics may impact it.

Also present at the event will be Rigo Wenning.

They will both be available throughout the event to answer your questions about SPECIAL.

Participation in the forum is free (except for the Wednesday evening), but registration is required.

This project receives funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No. 731601
